Dear Church Family,

Let us remember as we prepare to begin this journey in prophecy tonight:

A solemn responsibility rests upon the ministers of Christ to do their work with thoroughness. They should lead young disciples along wisely and judiciously, step by step, onward and upward, until every essential point has been brought before them. Nothing should be kept back. But not all points of truth should be given in the first few meetings. Gradually, cautiously, his own heart imbued with the Spirit of God, the teacher should give his hearers meat in due season.

In the news:

1.Tonight marks our opening night of the prophecy series with evangelist Randy Skeete. Remember it begins at 7 p.m. While it is being live-streamed, we ask that if possible you attend in person as it is our purpose to build community & relationships with those who come. As folks learn these amazing Bible teachings, how much better if they have a new and trusted friend to share with.

2. Remember that the prophecy meetings are taking place in the church every night through November 20. I would like to appeal to parents to make every effort to have their youth attend for how sad that so many young people never attend an entire series before becoming adults. This is a time to model so that we can instill the value of public evangelism, something that some consider a dying tradition. If we don’t model with our participation, no matter what we say, they will know what value we attach to it. It’s a critical component of church life, not just for outreach, but for retention as well.

3. I am excited that most of the invitation cards were taken to share and I believe last I looked, we likely had about half a box left on the foyer table at church. Our family spent Sabbath afternoon and early evening sharing with businesses along 11E including gas stations. We placed small stacks at cash registers, break rooms, laundry mats, liquor stores, restaurants, etc.

4. Those who filled out a menu request for pathfinders, can pick up their drive-through dinner on Sunday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. behind the church just prior to the prophecy meetings.

5. It appears we have around 40 or so pre-registered who aren’t members to attend the meetings either online or in person. Please continue to prayerfully intercede for these meetings and those who God is calling to attend.

6. The Seventh-day Adventist church has actively been engaged in defending religious liberty including matters of personal conscience surrounding religious exemptions and the vaccine. A statement came out recently that reiterates and seeks to clear up any misunderstanding regarding the church’s commitment to religious liberty and personal conscience. While the church supports vaccinations, it also supports religious liberty and will help you defend your right to follow your personal conscience. If you have concerns, please contact our religious liberty office at the Southern Union. This is where you can find solid advice and assistance and contact info should you need help. They have a good track record assisting members and non-members with religious liberty issues.

7. If you would like to help ensure that underprivileged children in our community have something to unwrap this Christmas, we invite you to place a NEW toy in the donation bins located at both entrances of the church. Bins will be emptied each week. Several have asked if we will take money to purchase toys – YES. Make the check to CSC and on the memo line, put “toy drive.” The toy drive ends November 6.

8. Remember the Adventist Book Center will be here a week from this Sunday from 10-11 a.m. in the church parking lot.

In His Service,

Pastor Jeremy
