Dear Church Family,
May we not forget:
The very last deception of Satan will be to make of none effect the testimony of the Spirit of God. “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18. Satan will work ingeniously, in different ways and through different agencies, to unsettle the confidence of God’s remnant people in the true testimony. He will bring in spurious visions, to mislead and mingle the false with the true, and so disgust people that they will regard everything that bears the name of visions, as a species of fanaticism; but honest souls, by contrasting false and true, will be enabled to distinguish between them.
“When the Testimonies, which were once believed, are doubted and given up, Satan knows the deceived ones will not stop at this; and he redoubles his efforts till he launches them into open rebellion, which becomes incurable and ends in destruction.
White, E. G. (1958). The Faith I Live By (p. 296). Review and Herald Publishing Association.
Speaking of which, I have heard from several who have completed their reading or listening of the Testimonies for the Church including Katie Jane, the Fielders, Joe Kretschmar, Earl Shelton and others who are nearly finished. My family isn’t finished yet but the point is to keep reading for Satan would have us to lay aside these valuable volumes that God has given us for these last days.
In the news:
- This Sabbath Pastor Jared will share the morning message with a sermon entitled, “If You’re Looking for Trouble.”
- We have a church busines meeting scheduled for this coming Tuesday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will involve reviewing the church board’s proposal to move forward with construction of the church pavilion. Details regarding the construction, cost, and location will be discussed as well as votes taken. The pavilion promises to be a real asset to our church and its ministry and given the magnitude of it, we wanted to make sure the whole family has a chance to weigh in and vote. We will have a hybrid meeting meaning that we will have an in person meeting in the fellowship hall with masks and social distancing required and then a zoom option for those unable to make it in person. Your attendance is encouraged.
- Our mid-week study on the book of Hebrews will continue this Wednesday with a look at chapter 3. We will meet via zoom at 7 p.m.
- Please keep Shawn Dietrich’s brother Mike in your prayers. He is still in the hospital and has had continued complications since having his surgery. He now has COVID. Shawn appreciates your prayers on their behalf.
In His Service,
Pastor Jeremy
