I love these words taken from Desire of Ages:
The angels of glory find their joy in giving,—giving love and tireless watchcare to souls that are fallen and unholy. Heavenly beings woo the hearts of men; they bring to this dark world light from the courts above; by gentle and patient ministry they move upon the human spirit, to bring the lost into a fellowship with Christ which is even closer than they themselves can know.

In the news:
- This Sabbath I will share the morning message.
- Our “Getting Acquainted” segment this week will feature the Mitchell family. Here’s the Hastings story from a couple of weeks ago.
- We have thus far received $12,576 dollars and $1300 in pledges towards our Fellowship Hall renovation project from the Christmas offering. In order to carry out the project, we still need at least $12,326 dollars. Plans are to do the renovation from February 8-March 1. Please prayerfully consider what you might do to help us reach our needed goal so that we can freshen up this important area of our church where so much important ministry occurs.
- Remember that after the worship service this Sabbath, everyone is welcome to take a Poinsettia home or to a shut-in.
- There will be no fellowship luncheon this Sabbath due to the holidays.
- AYA will be at 5 p.m. this Sabbath evening. A Quiet Hour film, Mary’s Song, will be shown. A heartwarming and thought-provoking fresh look at the faith and fortitude of Mary and Joseph that surrounded the Christmas story.
- Since I didn’t get a Grapevine out last week, here’s a picture from the amazing Christmas service that the school gave almost two weeks ago. It was a beautiful witness of what an Adventist education affords. It is beautiful that our kids are taught to offer up their gifts for God and His glory!
- Beginning Sabbath, January 5, we will begin a new sermon series entitled, “The Long Journey Home.” In this series, we will glean lessons from the journey Israel took to the Promised Land and apply them to The Long Journey Home we find ourselves on.
- It appears that we are getting near to having live streaming of our worship services each week. More details to come but our goal is to begin streaming in January.
- Here are some highlights from our Christmas time together as a family.
As we prepare to close another chapter with 2018 slipping into history, let us seek more earnestly after Christ that we might more fully empty our heart of self so that God may reign supreme in each one of us, making us bright lights for His glory.
